Kristine Aguilar is the hands behind LUPA Ceramics. LUPA is a Tagalog word which means earth, land, soil or country, and is an acknowledgement of her heritage as well as the raw materials she works with. Kristine graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University in 2009. Since finishing school, she has worked in artist residencies in Japan, Mexico and the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts in Burnaby. Kristine has been featured in the Gallery of BC Ceramics' Emerging Artist Showcase and Scout Magazine. She has shown her work in galleries and shops in Canada and the United States.
All of her work is made with non-commercial, food-safe glazes. Handwashing handmade ceramics is recommended.
